Job description
- Operate the Boeing 747-400 in accordance with EASA regulations and company procedures.
- Ensure the highest standards of safety, compliance, and operational efficiency.
- Conduct pre-flight planning, including route analysis, weather assessment, and fuel calculations.
- Lead and coordinate with the flight crew to deliver smooth and professional service.
- Manage in-flight decision-making to address operational challenges.
- Represent the airline professionally during layovers and at international destinations.
- Participate in recurrent training and assessments to maintain currency and proficiency.
Requirements
Must-have:
- Valid EASA Part FCL ATPL.
- Valid EASA Class 1 Medical Certificate.
- Valid EASA Boeing 747-400 type rating.
- ICAO English Language proficiency level 5 or higher.
- Total of at least 6,000 flight hours, including a minimum of 4,500 hours on medium to heavy turbojet aircraft.
- Minimum of 1,500 hours as Commander.
- At least 500 hours PIC on the Boeing 747 (may be included in the total Commander hours).
- Last flight preferably within the preceding 6 months.
- Valid EU or UK passport.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with international and long-haul operations.
- Additional type ratings on widebody aircraft.
- Multi-language proficiency for enhanced crew communication.
- Familiarity with ACMI or charter operations.
- Recent Boeing 747-400 simulator training.

- Payment based on a daily fee plus additional per diem allowance for days on base.
- Overtime allowance for hours exceeding 65 within rotation (maximum 30 days).

- Accommodation provided at layover stations and bases where the airline operates.
- Training allowance for complete CBT, OCC, and SIM program.

Travel and hotel will be arranged by Air Atlanta Icelandic for the full course (travel to ground course, hotel during ground course, travel to sim training, hotel during sim training, travel to base). OCC takes approximately 6 weeks, depending on the planning. It is carried out by Air Atlanta. The CBT home program starts 10 days before the official OCC date.
For the complete CBT + OCC + SIM training, a fixed training allowance applies. The normal Fee and Per Diem applies from the start of LIFUS.
